The installation AFTRYK (Imprint) invited visitors to choose an object from nature, smash it with a hammer, reconstruct the destroyed piece using a glue gun, and exhibit the result..
AFTRYK comments on the Anthropocene era we live in, a time when our indelible mark on nature has led to global changes in the Earth’s state. This reference is highlighted through the concrete actions participants are invited to perform. AFTRYK stages the human need to restore and recreate the nature that we ourselves have altered and destroyed.
The work was presented at Art Center Silkeborg Bad in connection with the exhibition ‘Amazing Nature’, Silkeborg, DK.
